Shakira and Gerard Pique have responded to Mark Zuckerberg donation with a letter of their own. As Shakira has also been doing a lot of charitable work after the birth of her two baby boys Milan and Sasha, she and Gerard Pique must feel a special attachment to the new parents.
According to Billboard, "Shakira and her partner Gerard Piqué congratulated Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan on the birth of their daughter Max and the launch of their Chan Zuckerberg Initiative."
A part of the letter read, "Your commitment to making the world a better place than you found it, and to empowering everyone to help make that a reality through all the tools you've listed here, education for all being one of them, show that success, when shared, has a multiplier effect [...] Thanks for your generosity."
But some skeptics are saying that this is just "Waka Waka" singer riding on the trending feed of Mark Zuckerberg to gain more attention to her work and career. That's a rather cynical way of reading the letter!
But Shakira may indeed be neglecting work on her new album to show support for her baby daddy Gerard Pique at his latest Barcelona game. She even brought Milan and Sasha to make sure that Barcelona player knew how supported he is.
According to E! Online, "As Gerard Piqué took to the soccer field Saturday afternoon for a match between FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad, the defensive member knew he had a few special people in the audience. Photographers captured Shakira and their two boys Milan and Sasha decked out in appropriate team colors as they cheered from the sidelines."
Looks like Shakira wasn't shy about showing off her baby boys to the press, just to show how strong her budding family is.
Recently Shakira and Gerard Pique were threatened by an ex-employee with an alleged "sex tape", but the couple has gotten over the threat and has already righted the situation. Their first thought was to protect their baby boys Milan and Sasha!
According to Mirror UK, "Shakira and footballer husband Gerard Pique are allegedly being blackmailed over a sex tape. The superstar and Barcelona defender are reportedly being asked for a "large sum of money" by a former employee. According to a report by Spanish news outlet Diario Vasco, the ex-worker is asking for the cash to not publish a recording of the pair "engaged in sexual acts"."
Looks like this was a poorly made scheme for the employee to get a large sum of money.
