Gravity Falls Season 2 Series Finale: 'Weirdmageddon 3' Is Not The Last Episode? Will Stan Pines Die? Disney XD Promises Surprises

Gravity Falls Season 2 Series Finale:Alex Hirsch, the creator of the Disney XD series Gravity Falls hinted that the Season 2 finale will definitely not be the last.

The "Gravity Falls" season and series finale will not be airing until next year. The Pines family still has one last hurrah left in them.

"Will every single conceivable question ever thought of about Gravity Falls be answered in the end? Of course not. But that just leaves some material for any potential Gravity Falls projects in the future..(including the canon Journal #3 that goes on sale in 2016)," Hirsch explained on his Tumblr page,.

Wired reported on a theory posted on Reddit "that fans' obsessive deconstruction gave them too much insight about the show's ultimate twist, so Hirsch himself decided to cut short what was originally meant to be a longer series."

Hirsch explained that it was purely his decision to end the show on his Tumblr page,

Gravity Falls was for the most watched animated series of Disney XD.

"Weirdmageddon 3" may feature a showdown between "Gravity Falls" antagonists Bill Cipher and Time Baby.

Hirsch hinted on his Twitter months ago that "At least one character will not survive the season. Buckle up."

Hirsch took to Twitter and Tumblr to announce that the animated cult show is ending after two seasons.

According to a Disney XD spokesperson, Gravity Falls will air "sometime in 2016."

Movie Pilot reported that a press release from Disney XD, the "Gravity Falls" Season 2 Finale or "Weirdmageddon 3" may air any time from January to March 2016.

"Time Baby is a character who, in the universe of 'Gravity Falls,' has a level of power similar to Bill," "Gravity Falls" creator Alex Hirsch told TV Insider.

"The difference being that Bill has always been trapped in a formless space where he can't affect our reality and Time Baby can affect the reality of Time. I will say this, although we've seen Time Baby blasted to little time pieces, he might not be quite as destroyed as you might believe," Alex Hirsch told TV Insider."

Hirsch also said Dipper will have to rely on himself.

"[Dipper] came into this summer as a kind of naïve, self-serious, sort of socially awkward kid who knew little of the world beyond his interactions with his sister and his home life," Hirsch told TV Insider.

"And over the course of these two seasons, he has been tested again and again, learned many lessons and those experiences now have to be the journal he has inside of him."
