Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is unhappy with how refs are dealing with the three-second call.
In a report by ESPN, Cuban said that players get away with more than five seconds inside the paint on the defensive end and as much as they are calling the attention of the refs, the players committing the violation still get away.
"I know it's not the league, so somewhere along the line, officials have chosen not to call defensive three seconds," Cuban said. "You guys can probably hear us counting, right? Five, six, seven. ... We've had games, multiple games already -- the last one we turned in, the league agreed that they missed nine defensive-three calls."
"And these aren't, 'OK, it's 3.1, it's 3.2 and it's wrong.' These are six, seven, eight and, in one case, nine seconds of standing in there. Again, you probably heard us screaming and yelling from the bench and counting to five and six."
He added that he already called the attention of the league regarding the issue but he didn't get any substantial response as the league office sees nothing wrong.
Not only is Mark Cuban frustrated by the way games are being officiated recently, NY Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony also does not appreciate the non-calls from the referees this season.
"I always get fouled," Anthony said. "That's what's frustrating me. You play so hard, work so hard and don't benefit from that. You look at other guys -- you touch them and look at them wrong and get fouls. It's a frustrating thing for me as a guy who likes to go to the basket, play in the paint. I like to play physical. It's frustrating."
Will these strings of complaints force NBA commissioner Adam Silver to make a move and make some changes soon? Stay tuned.
