The New York Knicks is a much improved team this season after a successful offseason of drafting rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis and signing role players such as Derrick Williams, Aaron Afflalo and Kyle O'Quinn.
Despite the early success this season, team's star Carmelo Anthony has started to get frustrated with the team's inability to close out tight games and their lack of offensive flow.
As per bleacherreport.com, Anthony spoke about the Knicks' disappointing losses which has led them to a 10-12 record.
"Losing is frustrating," Anthony said. "I don't want this to be an ongoing situation or an ongoing feeling where we have to come into the locker room and explain why we're losing basketball games. Things that happened on the court, I probably thought should've went my way. That can be frustrating at times. It seems like it's just starting to become repetitive now."
Despite the frustrations, Anthony looks to be staying in New York until his contract ends. According to theknicksblog.com, Anthony recently stated during the pre-season that he would not want to be traded.
When asked if he would want to be traded if the team has a bad start, the scoring forward said "Hell, no."
He then added "For me to get to that point and then decide that this is not what it's going to be, I already came this far. That don't even come across my mind at this point."
He then spoke about misleading reports by the media as he said "It's a long list [of things he thought were BS from the media]. The draft pick was one, me waiving my trade clause was two. Me not wanting to be here is three," Anthony said.
Given this, the team will look to trade for other assets to aid Anthony and the Knicks. Rumors have surfaced that a potential trade partner could be their rival the Brooklyn Nets.
As per cbssports.com, the Nets are willing to make trades. Given Joe Johnson's contract and a Nets team with no future picks, the Knicks are believed to be interested in attaining Johnson for draft picks and Derrick Williams. Johnson would surely help Anthony's scoring load and his post up play would be perfect for Derek Fisher's triangle offense.
