Lakers Trade Rumors: New Orleans Pelicans' Ryan Anderson Headed To Los Angeles?

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking towards their future as this season looks to be another lottery bound season.

According to silverscreenandroll.com, the Lakers are second to last in defensive and offensive efficiency and having their worst start ever at 3-19. In addition to this, the team's focus has been allowing the retiring Kobe Bryant to take multiple shots per game as he continues his highly publicized farewell tour.

Bryant's shot attempts and ball dominance has been highly criticized by many as it hinders the growth of young prospects D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle.

Experts believe that since this is a throw away season, the Lakers are looking to trade their multi-year contracts to free up their cap space for next season. The primary target of trade rumors has been volume scorer Nick Young. As per basketballinsiders.com, Young has been critical of the Lakers team and goes far to call it a "circus." This coincides with coach Scott's decision to bench the charismatic player.

Rumors have surfaced that Nick Young is being packaged for sharp shooting Ryan Anderson. As reported by hoopsrumors.com, Anderson could possibly receive a max contract next season. With the Pelicans already strapped by huge contracts of Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans, re-signing another non-All-Star would not be the best move for a franchise trying to move forward.

Trading for Young would give Anthony Davis support and provide offensive power to help him as he tries to carry his team to the Playoffs. With Tyreke Evans constantly battling injuries, Young would be a perimeter threat that Davis obviously needs.

For the Lakers, experts believe that Clarkson and Russell would be best fit for a pace and space offensive scheme. Adding a stretch four like Anderson would open up the court for their penetration. The Lakers rank in the bottom for efficiency in 3 point scoring and Anderson would definitely help in that avenue.
