Rory McIlroy got engaged again! This time, it is to his most recent girlfriend Erica Stoll, whom he started dating right after he broke off his engagement with Caroline Wozniacki, the Danish tennis player. While his fans would like to think that he has mended his ways, they can't help but wonder if he will ditch the wedding on Erica Stoll as well.
According to E! Online, "The golfer and girlfriend Erica Stoll have stepped out about a week after engagement rumors surfaced. Stoll flashed her diamond ring when she and her future husband attended The Paddy Wallace Fund in Belfast Thursday. McIlroy and Stoll have been dating for about a year, and the 26-year-old Irishman decided he was ready to spend the rest of his life with Stoll on a recent trip to Paris. McIlroy posted a picture of the Eiffel Tower, where many have speculated that he popped the question."
But knowing he "shelled out £433,000" on her engagement ring, according to Belfast Telegraph, he probably will be discouraged to run away this time.
Even before the engagement announcement, Rory McIlroy showed the world that he is going steady with his girlfriend Erica Stoll by taking her to a football game.
According to Belfast Telegraph, "Rory McIlroy could not keep the smile off his face as he watched Northern Ireland trounce the Greeks last night - and not just because of the scoreline. The Co Down man took girlfriend Erica Stoll, who he has been dating for 10 months, to Windsor Park for the big game."
Let's hope that he won't ditch Erica on the altar like he did with Caroline Wozniacki!
In case you aren't caught up on the news, "Erica met Rory in 2012 when she worked for the Professional Golfers Association and saved him from disaster after noticing he was in danger of missing his tee-off time at the Ryder Cup," according to the same source.
With a steadfast girlfriend by his side, no wonder Rory McIlroy has a zen attitude towards the injury he recovered from, as well as the PGA tour.
While the world number 1 will soon have to give up his coveted world number 1 ranking to his rival Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy isn't feeling too anxious at all.
In fact, he may be investing a lot in his relationship with his girlfriend, spending a lot of time with her as well as paying attention to her needs. Not only did he bust his ankle playing a soccer game on fourth of July, he also may be using this "long-term" healing process to spend time with Erica Stoll.
