Since its manga success, "Assassination Classroom" has been adapted into an anime series, a 3DS game, and two live-action movies. A new 3DS game was recently announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment, and will be released on March 24, 2016.

Funimation, who is streaming the "Assassination Classroom" anime series outside of Japan, describes the story of "Assassination Classroom" as follows:

It goes on:

"In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, the murderous monster behind the lectern will teach his students everything he knows about the assassination game. Should some eager beaver prove to be a quick study in killing, he or she will save Earth from extinction - and collect a hefty reward."
