Rockets Trade Rumors: Dwight Howard Going To The Raps For Terrence Ross And Jonas Valanciunas?

The Houston Rockets have been one of the teams highly rumored to make a big trade this season. With the team struggling, general manager Daryl Morey recently shared that the organization will continue to make changes until there is significant improvement.

As per bleacherreport.com, Morey spoke about the team's struggles and the potential roster moves. "We will change until it's working," Morey said. We win at the Rockets. Mr. [Leslie] Alexander does not accept losing. I don't accept losing. The players, no one accepts losing. We've been the fifth-most winning franchise since Mr. Alexander's owned the team. We're going to do whatever it takes to win."

According to espn.com, the team has been so bad that after only 11 games into the season, the Houston Rockets have fired coach and NBA legend Kevin McHale.

As thedreamshake.com reported, Howard has never been fully healthy since being forced to play earlier than his recovery during his 1-year tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers. According to the report, Howard was playing with knee injuries during last year's Playoffs as he struggled with a torn MCL and meniscus.

According to hoopshype.com, multiple free agents such as Kevin Durant, Lebron James and Hassan Whiteside will be available next offseason where Howard will also have the option leave the team. This then puts pressure on the Rockets to make a move if they feel the center will continue to battle health issues or would like to leave them via free agency.

It was stated by sheridanhoops.com that the Miami heat could look into trading Howard for Whiteside since they have little to no chance of signing the much-improved center next offseason. Rumors have also surfaced that the Rockets could look into trading the center to the Raptors for Terrence Ross, Jonas Valanciunas and draft picks. This would give the Raptors a defensive center who could help propel the team into serious playoff contention.
