NY Knicks Trade Rumors: Joakim Noah Headed To The Knicks For Robin Lopez?

The Chicago Bulls could look to trade Joakim Noah soon as the team continues its rebuild.

Based on a report by chicago sun times, Noah could be the first to be traded as their front court is currently overloaded and Noah's contract status could make him easiest to move.

"Joakim Noah is sitting there in the last year of his contract," NBA insider David Thorpe said. "I think his go-to would be Dallas, who's so desperate for that kind of energy again on defense. We know Rick Carlisle is so good at creating things and Joakim's such a great ball handler. I think he would be amazing there."

"A year ago he was the best center in the league," the report said. "You max those guys out. Here he is coming off the bench, he doesn't score."

In addition to this, with Fred Hoiberg's new system and decision-making, Noah has been moved to a bench role where he is averaging a career-low in points and minutes per game. This has led to the energetic center to expressing his displeasure and frustration with his new role under Hoiberg.

While Dallas is a prime candidate, sources say that Noah's preferred destination would be the New York Knicks. With a superstar like Carmelo Anthony, a promising rookie in Kristaps Porzingis and a triangle offense that would fit him well, Noah has been rumored to be most likely to end up in the big apple.

The Knicks could package defensive center Robin Lopez and energetic sixth man Derrick Williams for Noah's expiring contract. Experts believe that Noah would be willing to re-sign in New York given the team's huge market and the potential for the team to be a serious contender in the Eastern Conference. With an offense designed for big men with passing abilities, Noah, who's a known efficient passer would be a perfect fit for the team.
