"Tremendous fight," Arum said via ABS-CBN. "Donaire showed a lot of courage (in) fighting a very tough guy.... Great performance, gutsy performance."

"Now he's back on top, he's a champion, we're gonna build from there. Hopefully, we'll have some real big fights for him next year."

With regards to when will Nonito Donaire's next fight be, he said that he will definitely fight next year. Moreover, he wants to thank his dad who served as his inspiration for the success he is experiencing today.

"He was a boxer himself in the military, but he never went pro," he said of his father via ABS-CBN. "He had us to take care of but he taught us everything, he taught me everything."

"I think that's the biggest thing my father thought me -- loyalty and respect. That's much more than money can buy, knowing that you have friends and family who will always be there for you."

"These guys -- my father in law, my wife, and all my team -- I know from the bottom of my heart that when bullets will come flying, they'll all be right in front of me," he added.

Lastly, he thanked Manny Pacquiao for paving ways to a lot of Filipino boxers to make it big in international competition.
