At last, the rock band, Chicago has been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and it looks like they will be very active in the near future.
In a report by Billboard, it was somehow a long-awaited victory for the band as they know for quite a while that they are eligible for this honor.
"There was knowing that we're eligible for a long time, actually being nominated and then being accepted," said band co-founder Lee Loughnane. "Y'know, previous to this people who didn't know we weren't in were surprised when they found out. Everybody assumed that we're already in the Hall of Fame. We just kept working."
The band's original members are comprised by Lee Loughnane keyboardist Robert Lamm, trombonist James Pankow, saxophonist Walter Parazaider, bassist Peter Cetera, who went solo and had hit singles himself, drummer Danny Seraphine, and the late guitarist Terry Kath.
Asked if they are willing to do a reunion tour with former band members especially Peter Cetera, the door is wide open for them to do a reunion tour.
"That sounds fine to me," Loughnane says. "I haven't spoken with Peter in awhile, but if he wants to come sing with us, come on, baby! I'm ready. We're still playing the tunes. I think he is, too, so we should know the material."
He also added that new band members should be included as they did their fair share of contribution to the band. That is Jason Scheff to be in particular, who replaced Cetera.
"All those guys definitely had something to do with our success and longevity, and they are definitely worthy of being inducted," Loughnane says. "Maybe there will be a time when that happens as well. I hope there is."
Also, the band is working on releasing a new album and has confirmed that they will go on tour in 2016.
