Could there still be hope for Patrick Dempsey to reunite with Ellen Pompeo in "Grey's Anatomy" even after the death of his character in the series?
The 49-year-old actor used to play the role of Dr. Derek Shepherd, the husband of the 46-year-old actress' character Dr. Meredith Grey.
In April, the actor's character was killed off, as shared by Entertainment Weekly.
"After helping victims of a car accident, Derek ended up getting into one himself and was taken to a hospital that didn't follow proper protocol to save him," the report.
Despite his disappearance from the show, which some might have labeled as sudden, the site noted that it "wasn't exactly a surprise" that Patrick Dempsey left Ellen Pompeo and the ABC medical series, considering that "the past two episodes of the ABC drama have foreshadowed the possibility of a Derek departure."
A recent article of Entertainment Weekly revealed that the lead actress of the ABC medical series considers the death of her love interest's character as the most difficult part of her 2015.
"Certainly the last year was very, very difficult," she admitted. "Losing Patrick was huge."
Does this mean that Ellen Pompeo misses Patrick Dempsey on the show?
On the other hand, it can be recalled that the alleged misunderstanding between the two artists was caused by the cheating rumors against the actor.
The Inquisitr reported that a source of "InTouch" magazine disclosed that "Patrick had an inappropriate relationship with a young woman who worked on the set."
"The source went on to say that Dempsey's co-star Ellen Pompeo 'found out and was angry' and told Dempsey's wife Jillian Fink."
The former "Daredevil" actress is a known friend of the "Enchanted" actor's now estranged wife.
However, the story, which also claimed that he was fired from "Grey's Anatomy" because of cheating accusations, was debunked by a source of Gossip Cop.
But with the fans' clamor to see him again, do you think Patrick Dempsey would re-appear even just in a flashback with Ellen Pompeo?
