'Dragon Ball Super' Plot Spoilers: 'God Of Destruction Champa' Arc To Begin In January 2016

With over 20 episodes aired and the fight with Freeza just about to begin, some fans of "Dragon Ball Super" may be wondering what story arc will come next.

Lucky for them, there's plenty of plot spoilers to come courtesy of the dedicated translators who read anime magazines from Japan.

According to reports, Shueisha's "V Jump" magazine is announcing some "Dragon Ball Super" plot spoilers about the next arc in the series. Specifically, the "God of Destruction Champa" arc will begin in the "Dragon Ball Super" anime series on January 24, 2016. Unfortunately, fans in North America looking to watch the series legally will still have to wait, as no plans for an official licensing has been announced.

Somewhat surprisingly, the "Dragon Ball Super" anime has remained unlicensed since its initial announcement despite the overwhelming popularity. However, Toonami Asia will soon be airing an English dub of the series. Unfortunately, that dub will not involve Funimation, who has dubbed several "Dragon Ball" anime series and movies in the past.

"FUNimation has no connection with the Toonami Asia Announcement or the premiere of its English language version of Dragon Ball Super in mid-2016," said a Funimation representative (via Kanzenshuu).

Nevertheless, according to Anime News Network, original creator Akira Toriyama is plotting the story and designing the new characters for the new Champa arc. The official website for "Dragon Ball Super" revealed a new key visual for the new arc, which is pictured above. In addition to the new visual, the website also teased a new fight between universe six and universe 7.

Most importantly, there was a teasing question posted: "What are Super Dragon Balls?"

For those who are not familiar with "Dragon Ball Super," it is the latest installment in Akira Toriyama's smash hit franchise revolving around Goku and his friends and family as they protect Earth against outside threats.
