'One Punch Man' Manga Volume 1 Tops The New York Times Best Seller List Again This Week

The latter half of 2015 is turning into the season of "One Punch Man," as the anime series has continued to dominate weekly ratings and has made almost every top 10 anime list from various anime polling sites. It seems the success is only going to continue, as now fans are going out to buy the physical copies.

When you consider the what those in print have always feared about digital publishing, this is a definite mark of success.

According to reports, "One Punch Man" manga volume one has finally broken into the number one position on the New York Times Bestselling Manga list this week. The manga has been in the ranking for 15 weeks so far, and tops the latest volume of "Assassination Classroom" manga series and "Deadman Wonderland" volume 12.

Taking the number one spot after 15 weeks of being on the list is definitely a feat worth noticing, especially when you consider that "One Punch Man" has also had to compete against other wildly popular series like "Tokyo Ghoul" and the latest volumes of "Attack on Titan."

So far, fans in an ANN forum are expressing excitement and hopes for more "One Punch Man" success.

"One-PAWNCH! I hope the Blu-rays sell enough to guarantee a second season. This series is awesome," said Ulinox.

Though there's no announcements yet about official exports, the first limited edition "One Punch Man" Blu-ray/DVD is scheduled to be released in Japan on Dec. 24. The second edition will be released on Jan. 29. Both releases will include a special OVA episode that has been previously included in manga bundles.

For those not familiar with the "One Punch Man" manga series, it is currently being licensed by Viz Media, who is also streaming the anime adaptation outside of Japan. The original manga series was created by ONE digitally, then was adapted for print by Yuusuke Murata.
