Knicks To Trade Star Carmelo Anthony For Celtics' Avery Bradley Kelly Olynyk And First-Round Picks?

The Boston Celtics have acquired several pieces to their team over the past years ever since dismantling their 2008 championship team. Trading away veterans such as Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett have allowed them to get multiple draft picks and a quality playoff team under head coach Brad Stevens.

According to hardwoodhoudini.com, despite the team's surprising playoff run last year, the Celtics are still missing a true superstar to bring them back to championship contention. That possible superstar could be All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks. The potential deal would be the Celtics receiving Carmelo Anthony for David Lee's expiring contract, Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley, 2016 and 2017 Celtics 1st round picks

As per the report, "The Celtics aren't giving up much in this scenario, but is there any other team who would offer two solid, young players as well as two picks and cap relief (David Lee) for Melo? The Celtics could always throw in second-rounders and other small pieces like Perry Jones if the Knicks find this offer to be underwhelming. Of course, Ainge shouldn't go all-in, trading future pieces like Marcus Smart, Terry Rozier, RJ Hunter, James Young, and possibly Jared Sullinger."

This trade would allow the Knicks to let top rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis become the team's franchise player while opening up salary cap space. The possible deal would keep the Knicks competitive with Avery Bradley as their starting shooting guard.

Rumors have surfaced that the Knicks president and general manager Phil Jackson has turned down multiple offers for Anthony as he feels that the forward would not waive his no-trade clause. However, recent reports have indicated that Melo is not happy with the struggling team.

As reported by bleacherreport.com, Anthony spoke about the Knicks' disappointing losses which has led them to a 10-12 record.

"Losing is frustrating," Anthony said. "I don't want this to be an ongoing situation or an ongoing feeling where we have to come into the locker room and explain why we're losing basketball games. Things that happened on the court, I probably thought should've went my way. That can be frustrating at times. It seems like it's just starting to become repetitive now."

He then added "I just don't like losing. I don't want to get used to that feeling, coming in the locker room every day and have to explain why we're losing basketball games. That's a feeling that I don't want to get used to."

This kind of predicament could change Jackson's mind on moving on without Melo as the team's star.
