'My Hero Academia' Manga Gets Arcade Game Adaptation Set For Release In April

You can always make a guess about a manga series' popularity by how many forms of media it yields after its creation. A series with enough circulation can usually grab a drama CD or anime adaptation. But the greenlight of a video game or movie is usually the sign that a series is considered pretty popular.

It would appear that the "My Hero Academia" manga is slowly on its way to becoming one of those series as in addition to its anime adaptation, 3DS game, and smartphone app, the shonen manga is also getting an arcade game. The "My Hero Academia: Clash! Heroes Battle" arcade game is set to launch in Japan later this year in April.

Since the "My Hero Academia" arcade game is specific to Japan, it appears that fans elsewhere are still focused on the anime adaptation, that is also scheduled for some time this Spring.

"I just can't wait for the anime," said GamerTimeUSA in an ANN Forum.

According to Anime News Network, the "My Hero Academia" anime series release date is currently set for one day in April. Meanwhile, the "My Hero Academia" 3DS game entitled "Battle For All" will also be released later this year.

"My Hero Academia" was originally a manga series by Kohei Horikoshi. The series is currently running in Weekly Shonen Jump. Viz Media is simultaneously publishing the chapters and released the first volume of the manga in August 2015.

The story of "My Hero Academia" is described by Viz Media as follows:

"Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn't got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny."
