Nina Hagen Cancels Canadian Show After Promoter Hospitalized; 'But, Trust Me, I’ll Be Back Very Soon,' Promises Godmother Of Punk [VIDEO[

Legendary punk diva Nina Hagen announced that she had to cancel a show that was scheduled to take place at Canadian venue the Opera Houseon 735 Queen St. East, Toronto Ontario, on Friday, February 5.

"I feel devastated by this sad news," Hagen said in a statement. "But, trust me, I'll be back very soon!"

The German godmother of punk posted to Facebook that promoter Dante Brando had fallen ill and was hospitalized.

"We wish him all the best and a speedy recovery," Hagen in the statement. "As it turned out - neither the production, accommodation nor the transportation/the flights are in place, so we regret to inform the public that the shows scheduled in Toronto and Montreal have been postponed to later in the year or early 2017."

"My dear beloved Friends & Fans from Canada," reads the full statement. "I am extremely sad to announce that we have to postpone our shows in Toronto and Montreal!"

"Unfortunately the promoter for the two NINA HAGEN shows from VIVA EVENTS has fallen ill and has been taken to a hospital yesterday. We wish him all the best & a speedy recovery. As it turned out - neither the production, accommodation nor the transportation/the flights are in place, so we regret to inform the public, that the shows scheduled in Toronto and Montreal have to be postponed to later in the year or to early 2017.

"I was so excited to perform for you guys and now I was told that we can't fix all the problems in one week time. I feel devastated by these sad news. But, trust me, I'll be back very soon!

"I don't have any new dates confirmed yet, so you should contact your box office to get your tickets refunded for now.

Nina Hagen was born in East Berlin in 1955. Nina Hagen changed the face of the European punk movement in the seventies. Nina Hagen is the godmother of punk. One of the most influencial musicians to ever come out of Europe and certainly the biggest rock name to come out of East Germany. Nina Hagen is a legend.

Nina Hagen's album "Personal Jesus" was released July 16, 2010. Her last album, so far, was Volksbeat, which dropped November 11, 2011.
