Jessica and her former group Girls' Generation will soon face off, as both are planning releases for March.
After taking a hiatus from singing in 2014 leaving Girls' Generation, Jessica has recently signed with Tyler Kwon's agency, Coridel Entertainment. She has signed an exclusive contract with them and is planning a solo release sometime in the first half of 2016.
Upon signing with Coridel Entertainment, it was recently announced that Jessica has completed recording most of her album. Jessica began recording music for her solo album sometime last year.
On the other hand, a solo album from Girls' Generation member Tiffany is rumored to be released soon, followed by a solo debut by member Yuri, according to Korean news outlet Sports Donga.
Tiffany is expected to release a solo album sometime in March, followed up by solo releases from Taeyeon and Yuri, perhaps as part of SM Entertainment's SM Station project.
So it seems like Jessica and the members of Girls' Generation are expected to compete in the music charts in the first half of 2016.
However, the two parties are not only coinciding promotions through music, but through television as well. As Jessica is currently in the talks of being casted as the main host on KBS W's "Beauty Bible" program, Hyoyeon of Girls' Generation is the host of cable channel Onstyle's "Get It Beauty" and "Beauty Mentor" programs.
Jessica nullified her contract with SM Entertainment in Sep. 2015, nearly a year after she left Girls' Generation in Oct. 2014.
