A Cube Entertainment has decided to change the name of the agency to Plan A Entertainment and implement a new system after becoming acquired by Loen Entertainment.
On Mar. 2, an insider at A Cube made a statement regarding the name change.
"After A Cube was purchased by Loen Entertainment last November, we have been started using a new system of running the company," the insider said.
According to the insider, the name "Plan A" was chosen due to its literal meaning - when everything goes according to plan. The new name is also meant to represent that A Cube is capable of producing the highest quality content.
Bigger plans for the future of Plan A Entertainment were also revealed. The agency's plan is to rebrand themselves and make their first forays into the global marketplace.
Before the name change, A Cube Entertainment was often confused with Cube Entertainment. However, the company is a subsidiary of Cube Entertainment.
Artists under Plan A include girl group A Pink and soloist Huh Gak.
Recenty, rumors of a Chinese company investing nearly $80 million USD in Cube Entertainment and its parent companies have been circulating. The news even caused a sharp rice in Cube's stock on Feb. 29.
