'DotaPit League' Season 4 Dota 2 Tournament Recap: MVP.Phoenix Arises As Victors!

The "DotaPit League" season 4 Dota 2 tournament ended with team MVP.Phoenix from South Korea sweeping the American team Evil Geniuses 3 - 0.

Top teams from around the globe battled at Split, Croatia in the "DotaPit League" season 4 Dota 2 tournament last Mar. 19 and 20. The tournament was comprised of 8 teams where 4 teams were directly invited and 4 from regional qualifiers. The tournament format was BO3 single elimination and BO5 on the tournament finals.

Virtus.Pro, OG, Secret, and Evil Geniuses were the teams with direct invites. There were 2 teams that qualified from the Europe regional qualifiers which were Natus Vincere, popularly known as Na'Vi, and Team Empire. The Korean team MVP.Phoenix qualified from the South East Asia qualifiers and compLexity Gaming from the American qualifiers.

The first day of the "DotaPit League" season 4 Dota 2 tournament were full of surprises. The tournament began with a face-off between compLexity Gaming and Virtus.Pro. The games between these teams were relatively long where the first game ended after 41 minutes 30 seconds and an even longer second game of 61 minutes and 5 seconds. Both games were won by compLexity Gaming which made Virtus.Pro to be the first to exit the tournament.

Other teams that were eliminated on the first day were Secret, OG and Team Empire. Teams OG and Secret were the champions of the recent Major Dota 2 tournaments. The early elimination of these teams made the day very surprising to Dota 2 fans around the globe.

The second day of the tournament started with MVP.Phoenix eliminating compLexity Gaming with a sweep. It was then followed by a grueling match-up between Na'Vi and Evil Geniuses. The 3-game match series ended with Evil Geniuses advancing to the finals.

The "DotaPit League" season 4 Dota 2 tournament finals was between MVP.Phoenix and Evil Geniuses. Most Dota 2 fans from around the world were rooting for Evil Geniuses as it was evident on betting sites. But to their surprise, MVP.Phoenix defeated Evil Geniuses in a very convincing way. The Koreans executed their plays perfectly which resulted in a sweep series. This match also gave birth to new fans for the team from across the world. Good game, well played, MVP.Phoenix.
