Nina Dobrev And Ian Somerhalder Breakup Caused By Former ‘TVD’ Actress? Delena Reunion Not Happening?

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's split is said to be because the former "TVD" actress is not yet ready to settle down.

Three years ago, Life&Style exclusively revealed that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder broke up because the "TVD" actor had wanted to get married but the actress just wasn't ready.

"He was starting to talk marriage and she is just getting started on her career," a source told the magazine. "She loves him, and they still talk every day, but she is just not ready to make that huge commitment yet. Maybe in 10 years."

Apparently, their 10-year age gap played a major role. The publication noted that at Ian's age, it's natural for him to want to settle down and start a family.

"The Vampire Diaries" stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder broke up after three years of being together. They met on set in 2009.

"I didn't want to be dating one of my co-stars - my goal on the show was to be professional," Dobrev said. "But sometimes you can't help who you have a connection with, and you can only fight it for so long - which I did for a really, really long time."

According to Movie News Guide, there were speculations that Nina Dobrev's exit from "The Vampire Diaries" was because she didn't want to work in close proximity with Ian Somerhalder, who recently married "Twilight" star Nikki Reed.

It was previously reported that Dobrev could be considering a role in the "TVD" spin-off series "The Originals." Apparently, the actress' career was not as successful as she had envisioned it when she left the series last year.

Parent Herald noted that a Delena reunion is highly unlikely. Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder may not appear in front of the cameras any time soon.

The former "TVD" actress is said to be enjoying her time away from the hit CW series. "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is the first installment of the series without Dobrev.
