Google Nexus 7 Release Date: Upcoming Device Slated For Launching This May 2016?

Consumers might be wondering why a sudden price drop in the market for Google Nexus 4 and 5X happened. Others are speculating this is Google's way to condition the minds of their consumers that a new line of flagship device is coming.

Since the start of the year, reports never stopped speculating about the possible launching of a new Nexus device, or what they called the Google Nexus 7. Although there was never an official announcement made by Google yet, most reports stated that the new device will be launching this year.

According to a report by The Christian Times, the US-based tech giant already signed a three-year contract with LG, the Korean tech giant who has been their partner in producing both Nexus 4 and 5X.

However, the report also stated that Google might have tapped HTC to produce the Nexus 7 since the Taiwanese phone maker was behind Google's tablet, Nexus 9.

These reports are still unconfirmed yet, and Google is also mum about the circulating information. However, it is believed that Nexus 7 is slated for launching during Google's I/O Conference on May 18 to 20, Gospel Herald reported.

The Christian Times added that the next iteration could either be a phone or phablet, the information being unconfirmed also. But it is highly believed that the device will run on an Android N operating system which is also speculated to debut on Nexus 7.

In addition to the report of Gospel Herald, the said device is rumored to have the following features: A 4G support and Wi-Fi connectivity, a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor alongside a 3 GB RAM, and a whopping 7 inches display along with a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,800 pixels.

Google Nexus 7 is expected to be at the same introductory price once released, a tactic Google will make in order to attract more customers.
