Fans excitedly wait for the "Hunter x Hunter" manga's next installment. Find out why the series is still popular even with its many breaks.
Movie News Guide reported that "Hunter x Hunter" manga and anime has become one of the most beloved series of this generation. A thread on Reddit, entitled "'Hunter X Hunter' has Made Me Dislike Most Anime," was dedicated by a fan to express his love for the series.
"'Hunter X Hunter' to me is the best anime of all time," Redditor _Rule_1 wrote. "I love it so much that most other anime can't even compare to it. Don't get me wrong, I still like some anime ('Yu Yu Hakusho,' 'Naruto,' 'One Piece,' 'My Hero Academia,' 'Mirai Nikki,' 'DBZ' and a few others) but most are just awful."
The post was met with mixed reactions. Some tried to help the Redditor by suggesting that he try other genres of anime. One user, ChipsHanden, suggested that the Redditor "stop assessing the state of the anime world at the moment."
"Different things have different merits for different reasons," ChipsHanden wrote. "Don't compare every anime to 'Hunter x Hunter' because other anime aren't trying to be 'Hunter x Hunter.' If you like 'Naruto,' enjoy it because it has an interesting universe with a unique approach on what a ninja is. If you like 'Space Dandy,' enjoy it because it's whacky and light hearted."
It was previously reported that the "Hunter x Hunter" manga will finally be continued this year. The series' continuation is expected to be available on Apr. 18.
The news marked the end of the manga's hiatus. This will definitely come as a relief to fans who have been frustrated with "Hunter x Hunter's" frequent breaks.
Meanwhile, Crunchyroll reported that the "Hunter x Hunter" anime is set to be broadcasted on Toonami this Saturday, Apr. 16. The English dub will have Erica Mendez take on the role of Gon Freecss, Cristina Vee as Killua Zoldyck and Matt Mercer as Leorio Paradinight, among others.
