Microsoft Seeking To Release Surface Pro 5 Ahead Of Apple’s MacBook Pro 2016?

With Microsoft Surface Pro 5 getting really good reviews and high customer satisfaction ratings, enthusiasts are now becoming very excited for the next generation Microsoft Surface Pro and how far it could still go.

One of the reports about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is that it may be released in June 2016. The plan, according to The Bitbag, could prove to be a good choice for Microsoft since Apple is also reported to be preparing for the unveiling of the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 was officially unveiled in October 6 last year in New York and if The Bitbag's report is true, it would only take less than a year for Microsoft to release a new Microsoft Surface Pro line.

News Every Day, on the other hand, speculates that the release of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be released in 2017 and definitely not this year. According to the report, contrary to rumors about the new hybrid laptop's release in either June or October this year, Microsoft is delaying its unveiling until early 2017.

The report added that the release of Surface Pro 5 is not included in the priorities of Microsoft this year and further highlighted the major developments for the company this year including the next major Windows 10 update, the Redstone 1, which is slated in June.

Another reason for the delay of Microsoft Surface Pro 5's release is the largely rumored upgrade to Intel's latest Skylake processing chip. This upgrade, accordingly, will make the device ultra-fast and powerful, enhancing the device's CPU and GPU performance.

Moreover, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also reported to be getting a new Surface Pen. Patently Mobile first reported this new detail saying that Microsoft has recently filed for a patent for a new rechargeable stylus and dock. The current Surface Pen is powered by either a Triple A or button cell battery.
