It is believed that the Nintendo NX release date will be announced this month. There are rumors that the console will be available before the year ends.
Express reported that more information about the highly-anticipated device has been revealed online. Apparently, the Nintendo NX release date will bring about a console that has a vast array of compatibility options as well as other new features.
The NX is believed to be able to handle ports of current-gen titles. It may be able to feature titles that are already available for Xbox One and PS4. There were reports that Nintendo is aiming for stronger links with third-party companies such as EA and Ubisoft.
Moreover, it was also noted that the device could function as a home console. It was said that the NX will have the ability to interact with smartdevice apps and that its software will unlock My Nintendo reward points.
The publication added that the Nintendo NX release date could be this year. Apparently, the handheld version may be available in 2016 while the home console may be launched next year.
According to Gamepur, another Reddit user named "UntypedHero" has shared that there are speculations that the console could be announced this month. This may include the confirmation of the Nintendo NX release date.
Furthermore, the NX is said to have Amiibo support as well as friend codes. The Redditor added that physical dev-kits have already been sent out.
"The NX is capable of outputting 4k," the user posted. "Consensus is upscaling and streaming. DDR4 Memory (between 6GB - 8GB). EDIT: Available to software."
Jobs&Hire previously reported that the Nintendo NX specs will feature AMD's latest chip, x86. Soon, players can save and back up data to the company's servers. It could also have support for an additional screen.
"Demand for game consoles looks strong for 2016 and we remain on track to generate additional revenue from new semi-custom business in the second half of 2016," a post on Reddit read. "We have new products being introduced in both the businesses with the new design wins in the second half on the semi-custom side."
