Nintendo NX Release Date Delayed? Console To Have AMD Chipset?

The Nintendo NX release date could be delayed until next year, in 2017. The news comes after rumors that the console will come with an exciting and exclusive video game title.

According to Express, Nintendo intends to make the Wii U available by next year. Analyst Michael Pachter has suggested that the Nintendo NX release date may arrive much later.

Moreover, the company is believed to be aiming to release the new console with "an eye-catching exclusive title." Other popular franchises may also be launched for the device.

It was noted that "Call of Duty" may be a special launch title for the NX. A new "Super Smash Bros." game as well as "Beyond Good and Evil 2" have also been linked to the highly-anticipated console.

EA is believed to be partnering with Nintendo for full support of the NX when it becomes available as well. Moreover, the two companies will reportedly be focusing on the expansion of the publisher's sports franchises to gain back the fans who are now with Xbox One and PS4.

There are speculations that the Nintendo NX release date will see the console with AR support. The company has not made any announcements regarding this.

Alphr reported that chip manufacturer AMD has claimed that their three semi-custom system-on-chips were responsible for increasing their revenue estimates. The company made the announcement earlier this month.

Although this does not automatically mean that AMD is helping with the development of the Nintendo NX, the manufacturer's SOCs are commonly used in game consoles. There are speculations that the company is working on the NX, PS4.5 and/or Xbox Two.

AMD CEO Lisa Su has confirmed, though, that the profitable SOCs were linked to gaming. Furthermore, she also admitted that they were for "a different console or a new console", as opposed to "the current generation."

JNH previously reported that the Nintendo NX may be unveiled at E3 this year. The console is believed to be able to interact with smart device apps and allow players to unlock My Nintendo reward points.
