Right now, there are two next big things for the Pokemon game series, "Pokemon Go" and "Pokemon Sun and Moon," and while everyone is excited for both games, a new report says "Pokemon Go" might be the "breakout game of the series."
In a recent report, Movie Pilot says that, compared to "Pokemon Sun and Moon," "Pokemon Go" and its gameplay details will certainly bring every '90s kid's dream-to catch a (virtual) Pokemon in the real world. "Pokemon Go" looks incredibly promising with its more reactive combat mechanics and the spin it made with the game's levelling system.
The report also highlighted the massive changes "Pokemon Go" brought to the gameplay mechanics and it might just become the game changer.
"Evolution is different, based on the collecting of shards rather than grinding away at XP. The battle formula is changed up, made both simpler (Pokemon are reported to only have two moves) and more reactive with the new real-time dodge option. And of course there's the highly customizable Trainer player character, which also works on its own levelling system," Movie Pilot wrote.
In the recent 10-minute leaked gameplay footage, it was seen that players now have multiple options, especially in the avatar-setting, where one can choose its clothing, facial features.
As described in Christian Post, with "Pokemon Go," players can walk around the real world looking for Pokemon. Pokemons can also be found as eggs, to which the player can choose to raise and use in later battles. It can also be traded.
It added that for Pokemon to battle, it must be trained first by entering gyms or joining a Red, Blue or Yellow Team.
Compared to the usual Pokemon game series, "Pokemon Go" will not be as good when it comes to narrative but the core of the latter is the journey enriched by a simpler and new gameplay.
