The most awaited comeback of "Person of Interest" is finally here and with Season 5 set as the final season for the series, things are expected to become really exciting; the first episode, "B.S.O.D.," already aired last May 3 and a new episode entitled "SNAFU" will be out on Monday, where we might just see a different machine from Finch.
In the first episode, we saw how John Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) have the Machine's source codes compressed inside a briefcase. They used this for Finch to reboot the Machine but as it looked, it may entail more work so it may become better than the Samaritan.
Episode 2, "SNAFU," is expected to feature more narrative about the Machine but given the short run of Season 5, fans should expect more twists and turns.
Published in Carter Matt, the official synopsis for "SNAFU" reads: "The Machine experiences a glitch during rebooting, supplying Reese and Fusco (Kevin Chapman) with the numbers of dozens of people not actually involved in crimes, while also locking Finch and Root out after identifying them as threats based on past violent behavior."
"Person of Interest" showrunner Greg Plageman, in an interview with TV Guide, said that Team Machine will really be challenged in rebuilding the Machine, a reboot that will produce a Machine that can defeat the Samaritan. Another problem they would be facing is that while they do the rebooting, the Samaritan also grows in power.
"The question becomes for Harold Finch, if he's able to reconstitute his machine, what is he going to do differently this time? And how is he going to confront Samaritan when it seems so dominant and so formidable?" Greg Plageman told TV Guide.
"Person of Interest" Season 5, Episode 2 will air on May 9, Monday in CBS.
