2016 Busan One Asia Festival Brings Out Great Performances from Famous K-Pop Stars

Busan One Asia Festival made its opening ceremony on October 1, 2016 and celebrations continue with explosive performances from various K-Pop stars and artists.

K-Pop in Korea has been internationally acclaimed since its resurgence in the 90's. One of the events aim is to recollect and be kept in mind that it was again revived.

Korean culture is already known worldwide especially in the entertainment industry. The three-week affair would strengthen its legacy and demonstrates Korea's commitment to excellence.

K-Pop stars include Psy, Girls' Generation, B1A4, Block B, Sechs Kies, B.A.P., INFINITE, DIA, Lyn, LaBoum, Girl's Day, I.O.I., T-Ara, APink and MFBTY which entertained fans and concertgoers gave their best performances during the opening ceremony at the Busan Asiad Stadium.

The event did not only attract Koreans but also other nationals from neighboring countries. A 25 year old student from Singapore Rahman Kairi who showed admiration to APink said, "I came to see the girl groups perform. In Singapore, K-pop boy bands like EXO and BIGBANG are very popular."

There was also a 51-year old Japanese national who is an avid fan of CNBLUE attended the opening to see Jung Yong Hwa, an honorary ambassador of the event, although he did not perform but he also attended the event.

One of highlights of the event is the recollection of the K-Pop history in Korea which started in 1990 and the term Hallyu was termed about the widespread of K-Pop culture in 2000. The international actor and singer Rain, also the most prominent Hallyu figure in South Korea and Hollywood was also shown in the event. He recalled, "That was the time when we told ourselves that we represent Korea."

October 2, 3 and 4 will be performed by various Korea stars and talents. October 23 is the schedule for the closing performance called One Asia Closing Performance: One Asia Dream Concert.
