Dara leaving 2NE1 for Philippine career

Dara is one of the most popular members of the Korean pop girl group 2NE1. The former quarter is one of the groups that ushered in the world's obsession with Korean pop music starting 2009. Even seven years after, 2NE1 and its members remains a constant fixture in the Asian entertainment industry.

Dara, whose real name is Sandara Park, first became a star in the Philippines when she became the runner-up in the talent show "Star Circle Quest." She then moved back to South Korea and became one of the founding members of 2NE1.

Now, she is back in the Philippines and, according to Rappler, she is a judge in the Filipino talent reality show "Pinoy Boyband Superstar." It has been reported that Dara is considering making her move to the Philippines final if 2NE1 will not have a studio album by the end of 2017.

The news that Dara is now leaving her illustrious music career in Korea comes as another member of the group was confirmed to have exited. Billboard reports that Minzy has already left the group and is expected to be working on an album as a solo artist.

Dara's last work with 2NE1 was the song "Gotta Be You" off their second studio album "Crush." Apart from her work with 2NE1, she is currently seen in "Pinoy Boyband Superstar." KPop Starz will be posting more news and updates on Dara's career and the status of 2NE1 in the coming weeks.
