The movie “Missing” is a thriller about a single working mother who finds out that her baby was missing with her nanny. She starts to search for them and finding some unsettling facts. Two acclaimed actresses star in the movie which will premiere next week.
Uhm Ji-Won and Gong Hyo-Jin are starring in the new crime thriller movie “Missing” produced and distributed by Megabox Plus M as reported by Seoul Daily News. The movie is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 30 in Korea.
The movie title "Missing” is written in Korean alphabet (미씽) with the subtitle “The Missing Woman” (사라진 여자= Sarajin Yeoja). Previously, the movie was titled “Missing: The Missing Child” (사라진 아이= Sarajin Ai), but Megabox Plus M decided to change the word ‘Child' into ‘Woman’ to emphasize conflict between the two leading actresses.
The movie delves deep into the anxiety of modern working single moms who have to leave their babies to nannies as caretaker. According to Yonhap News Agency, every mother can relate to the story, especially the working moms.
Uhm plays as Ji-Sun, a divorcee and working mom with a baby boy. She hired a nanny Han-Mae (Gong) to take care of her baby. One day, as she comes home, she finds her baby and the nanny were missing without a trace.
She comes to report the missing son to police, but detectives who investigate the case don’t believe her story. As she searches for her son, she discovers some disturbing facts about the nanny.
Megabox Plus M also released promotional pictures, taken from the still images of the movies. One image showed Gong as a nanny with the baby, while the other image shows the desperation of Uhm to seek her missing baby.
