Lee Joon-Gi surprised the audience in the IU concert in Taiwan. He also re-enacted one of the scene in the drama “Moon Lover:s Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and singing one of the original soundtrack from the drama.
The surprise appearance of Lee took place during IU’s concert on Saturday, Jan. 7 as reported by JTBC News. Audience in the concert hall were delighted to see him suddenly appeared after IU finished singing of the her song. He wore a black suit with a black cape and came behind IU who stared at him with thankful look.
Lee and IU then re-enacted one of the romantic scene in “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” drama. The designated scene was when prince Wang-So, who had become the king of Goryeo, protected his lover Hae-Soo with his cape. Audience loved the re-enactment of the drama as the drama has been a big hig in China and Taiwan.
Afterward, Lee sang "For You," one of the original soundtrack from the drama. The audience was pleased with an impromptu performance. Lee will have his own fan meeting on the following day in Taiwan.
Subsequently, IU thanked Lee as reported by YTN News. She posted a grateful note in her Instagram and showed the pass for Lee Joon-Gi fan meeting in Taiwan.
“Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” is very popular in China and Taiwan. The adaptation of Chinese novel and drama series has become a big hit overseas. The audience who have read and watched the original drama applauded the Korean adaptation, because the Korean version has a different twist than the Chinese version, aired on Hunan Broadcasting System.
However, in Korea, the 20-episode-drama is considered to be a commercial failure with low ratings. Aired on SBS, “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”only averaged below 10 percent in both AGB Nielsen Korea and TnMS. Lee and IU became best friend after the drama, and there are speculations that they are currently dating.
