Miss A member Suzy recently debuted as a solo singer and released the track entitled "Yes No Maybe." JYP Entertainment started off by releasing teasers last early January for Suzy's solo titled 'Yes? No?".
As part of her solo debut, Suzy released the song entitled "Pretend" last January 17. The song already topping music charts upon its release was just the beginning. The song focuses on people who appear to be happy on the outside but are actually mourning on the inside.
The 22-year-old singer then released the full mini album last January 24. According to Asiastarz, the mini album included 6 tracks namely, "Trigonotis Peduncularis", "Pretending I'm Happy", "Heater Forever", "It's Always Like That" featuring Reddy, "Les Preferences", and title track "Yes No Maybe". It was revealed that JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park or Park Jin Young wrote and produced the song.
The music video for the title track "Yes No Maybe" was also released on January 24. According to Allkpop, fans received a surprise when the singer released a special choreography clip a few days after for her title song "Yes No Maybe" in addition to the music video. You may view the clip below.
Last year, Suzy released a collaboration song with EXO member Baekhyun entitled "Dream". The song received a nomination for "Song of the Year" in Mnet Asian Music Awards or MAMA last December 2016. The two also performed the song for the first time during the said awards show.
With this, fans have speculated the possibility of the singer releasing an album and this seems to have come true. Suzy is currently starring in a reality show "Off The Record: Suzy" produced by the same producer who produced "Off The Record: Lee Hyori" last 2008. The show will reveal the singer's lifestyle and never-before-seen stories of the singer.
The singer who is currently busy with promoting her mini album is also preparing for the new drama "While You Sleep" set to premiere this year on SBS. The actress will be starring alongside Lee Jong Suk and working with director Oh Choong Hwan whose previous works included "Doctors" and "My Love From Another Star".
It looks like fans can expect a lot of new stuff from the actress/singer this year. Are you all excited?
