Despite the spotlight of success from BTS, it seems that VIP, Bigbang's fan club, doesn't like with the performance given by BTS. When the group was appearing on stage, VIP claimed that the choreography was copying T.O.P's. Thus, they demanded apology from BTS.
The problem came up when BTS appeared on "The 6th Gaon Chart Music Award" on Feb. 22. They performed two songs "Save Me" and "Blood, Sweat and Tears." VIP accused that their performance was similar to T.O.P's "No Signal," according to AllKpop.
It is not the only time VIP accused BTS of copying Bigbang. According to Hype, VIP first noticed the similarity of Bigbang and BTS when they were running on a filed with a suit. Moreover, V was having similar hairstyle and suit just like G-Dragon. Seeing the similarity over and over, VIP demanded BTS to apology.
But it seems that the fans are taking it too far. Even though there is similarity, but it is just a very little part of the performance. Moreover, there is no right for showing no signal screen. So, the accusation is totally going out of direction. Some netizens critique the VIP who is taking this too seriously.
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment stated that they didn't find similarity for the performance. For Big Ht Entertainment, they stated that they didn't prepare the performance in general and the accusation had nothing to do with them. Hearing both companies denied the similarity, VIP needs to stop the accusation.
Moreover, ARMY, BTS' fan club, is trying to find evidence that both BTS' and T.O.P's performances were not similar. Plagiarism is a big issue indeed. But when there is no definite evidence about the action, it is hard to call it truly plagiarism.
VIP needs to realize that BTS is talented. It can be proven by their success in music industry, beating other idols at the time. The overreaction needs to be redeemed so there will be no misunderstanding or even fan war. It is better to support their idols in a nice way and respect creativity.
