BTS' Rap Monster has witnessed by himself that the road to fame was not always easy especially when one of his closest people were the one who doubted him the most. The member of BTS has shared what it feels like when his own mother disapproved of his decision to become an idol.
Parents always hope for the best for their children. Unfortunately, what parents want for their children is not always in the same direction with what their children have set up for themselves. BTS' Rap Monster is one of those children who faced a hard time to convince his parents about his career path that he's been passionate about. Korea Boo revealed BTS' Rap Monster has a special diplomatic strategy to address his opinion to his mother about becoming a Kpop idol.
During a special interview, BTS' Rap Monster who's reportedly working on a new project with American rapper, Wale, admitted that he actually wasn't the brightest student at the school. The idol felt like he's under the impression that his parents wouldn't like if he chose an unrealistic path for his future. He even had to carefully hide his lyrical pieces so his mother wouldn't find them. Whenever his mother caught him writing pieces, Namjoon a.k.a Rap Monster most certainly would get into a serious trouble. There was one time when his grades dropped down to the lowest place because he got too caught up with his hobby.
"My grades were about a 5000th place in the country. If I wanted to keep going the path I was, I would've been a successful man with a job," said BTS' Rap Monster when he was asked about his grade. However, he didn't keep that matter in his mind. Instead, the school-boy Rap Monster became motivated to focus on his talent as a rapper until one day he decided to confront his mother about his choice to focus on his rap career.
"So I asked my mom if she prefers a son that was 1st in what he likes or a son that was in 5000th place. That conversation resulting in my mom allowing me to chase my dreams" concluded BTS' Rap Monster. Lucky for us young Namjoon could be persistent to focus on his passion. If it weren't for his bravery to stand up for what he believes in, we might never know that he has such a talent as an idol.
