Gong Yoo's long time friend and former co-star Gong Hyo Jin recently let fans in on the "Goblin" actor's greatest weakness. The "Master's Sun" actress made her revelation during a guest appearance at the actor's recent fan meeting held in Hong Kong.
According to Soompi, Gong Yoo and Gong Hyo Jin developed a great friendship when they worked together on the set of "Hello My Teacher." Their friendship is so strong that compelled the actress to travel all the way to Hong Kong to appear at the fan meeting.
During her appearance, Gong Hyo Jin made sure to let Gong Yoo's fans know that the actor is far from perfect. The actress said that her friend is very timid despite the great success that he enjoys in the entertainment business after starring in hit franchises like "Train to Busan" and "Goblin: The Great and Lonely God."
Gong Hyo Jin said that because of his shyness, Gong Yoo has a lot of secrets. Gong Yoo said that women actually liked those types of men which drew much agreement from his loyal supporters. Gong Hyo Jin, however, said that the "Goblin" actor's strengths balance out his perceived weaknesses.
"He's very famous for being handsome. He's a romantic guy who really knows how to protect women," Hong Hyo Jin said. "He's also quite frugal."
The actress said that Gong Yoo is also a very honest person and a really great listener. Gong Yoo, who recently won the Best Actor award at the prestigious Baeksang Art Awards also admitted in his speech that he was not exempt from shortcomings, Kpopstarz reported.
In his speech, he tearfully apologized to his mother for failing to see her often and for disappointing her with his lack of time to spend with her. Still, his humility in accepting his faults further endear him to his fans. In a recent fan event in Taiwan, he tearfully expressed his gratitude for the fans and vowed to work even harder to deserve their love and support.
