Former WINNER main vocalist Nam Tae Hyun recently reveals the real reason for his departure from the YG Entertainment-managed group. He also responded to haters posting negative comments about his comeback with his new band South Club.
According to a report by All Kpop, Nam Tae Hyun opened up about his former K-pop group and what made him really leave WINNER. It can be recalled that Nam Tae Hyun and YG Entertainment came to the mutual decision for the singer to leave the group after he was found to have suffered through psychological issues caused by stress. WINNER made their successful comeback as a quartet this April with their FATE Number For the album and topped the charts with the double release of "Really Really" and "Fool."
In his interview with Dingo Music, Nam Tae Hyun remained vague about the real reason for his departure from WINNER but said that he was sorry that his former groupmates suffered through a lot of adjustments because of him. He admitted that the decision to leave was also hard for him because it felt like leaving home.
"There are a lot of speculations but they are only speculations," Nam Tae Hyun said. "I left after making a good compromise. We just had different paths to walk."
Nam Tae Hyun also said that he had undergone major changes since leaving YG Entertainment, mainly on the financial aspect. He said that as a YG artist, he was well compensated for his success but now, he had to start from scratch with a new band and the new label "South Buyers Club" which he started, Soompi reported.
Nam Tae Hyun also responded to haters on social media and said that he knows that South Band's new single "Hug Me" which was released May 26 will speak for itself. "I know you'll all still listen to the song even though you post hate comments!" he said.
