Girl's Generation's Hyoyeon is back with a brand new single! Her newest track titled "Wannabe" dropped yesterday, June 1 with a fierce music video.
Hyoyeon has finally released her latest single "Wannabe" featuring rapper San E. The track was released on Thursday, June 1 at 6 p.m. KST.
Similarly, Hyoyeon performed "Wannabe" live on Mnet's "M! Countdown". It aired at the same time as the track was released.
As previously reported by All Kpop, Hyoyeon's latest track "Wannabe" is the pop dance genre. The track apparently means sending out a caution to a "playboy".
The music video was also released on the same day. Hyoyeon is at a boxing gym, getting ready to beat the next playboy and threatens to give them trouble.
The music video also gave the fans a proper show of Hyoyeon's slick dance moves. The former Girl's Generation member even incorporated the 2016 hit move "dab" into the choreography.
Hyoyeon built up the hype of her upcoming comeback via a series of teaser images and an MV teaser. The first set of teasers was released on May 25, featuring Hyoyeon at the same boxing gym looking fierce as ever, as reported by Soompi.
Hyoyeon dropped the music video teaser for "Wannabe" on Tuesday, May 30. The MV teaser featured Hyoyeon entering the boxing gym, looking like she was about to beat someone.
"Wannabe" is Hyoyeon's second single to date. She previously released "Mystery" in December of 2016 which made its way to the 12th spot on Billboard's World Digital Songs chart.
Hyoyeon previously collaborated with a few artists before going solo. The former Girl's Generation member did a collaboration with Triple T featuring Park Jin Young with the track "Born to be Wild".
Hyoyeon was also featured on Taeyeon's 2016 track "Up & Down". The track sold over 30,000 copies on Korea.
