It was on March 2 when the news about Taeyeon's track "Happy" hit every news outlet in South Korea.

Hours before her latest single "Happy" is about to drop, She participated in an interview for her birthday on March 9.

She introduced her track "happy" to everyone as a pop song that has a taste of doo-wop and a mix of R&B. "Happy" is all about the spirit of having quality time with people you love."

She also revealed a little part of her lyrics from her song "Happy." Taeyeon chose to share the lyrics that read "Love me with the temperature that is unique to you."

Taeyeon shared that the track is supposed to be a part of her "Purpose" album earlier this year, but is different from the other tracks. So she decided to release it as a single on her birthday to repay her fans' love and undying support.

On March 13, Taeyeon decided to make her public statement four days after her father passed away. Taeyeon and her family wanted to express their gratitude for those people who stayed and shown their love and support despite the unfortunate event.

The Instagram post reads:

"I would like to express my gratitude to those people who have sent their congratulatory messages along with their condolences when my father passed away on March 9, 2020.

Numerous people have reached me, hugged me, comforted me with solace. I will forever hold all of your genuine love and support and will continue to live well.

To those who looked for me even when they are far away and sent their deepest sincerities, I asked you to understand that situation and that I am not able to reach all of you right away but know that I am grateful, and thank you to all of you.

My family and I will never forget March 9, 2020. My father has been there to support me from the very first step I made in the music industry at a young age. He would always turn the ignition on in the car and I would get inside.

Even now, We are certain that my father is on the move and indeed one step ahead from all of us. I do believe that he is looking down on us from a peaceful place and watching over us.

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who has done their best to reach me and my family and shown their care for me and my dad. I, Taeyeon, love you all very much."

Our deepest condolences to Taeyeon and her family.
