JYP Entertainment seems to be pretty busy for the rest of 2020 as they will continue to produce more exciting music and groups that will flourish in the music scene in and out of South Korea.
It's been said and confirmed by JYP Entertainment that they are preparing to debut five acts for the next two years - two from those will debut this year.
Indeed, JYP Entertainment is still preparing for the highly anticipated group that will be formed from the survival show called the "NiZi Project." The girls on the team from this show led and produced by J.Y. Park himself are named Ayaka, Akari, Mayuka, Ririra, Maya, Miihi, Momoka, Rima, Yuna, Nina, Mako, Riku, and Rio.
As the official and final lineup for the new group isn't revealed yet, it was then announced that another group will be debuting the same year. According to recent reports, the other group will be a boy band, not to be compared to an idol group as these are two different things, and this will become the first boy band formed from the agency since DAY6.
However, the number of finalized members for the lineup is not yet confirmed, and netizens already named three of their identities as a theory: Sungmin, Jungsu, and Kyoungmun.
It's also known that Sungmin is a guitarist trainee from JYP, and the rest of the said members are not yet known to the public. This theory has been suspected after a snippet of their music was once revealed during a particular ITZY program.
On the other hand, the "NiZi Project" is a girl group Korea-Japan joint audition in collaboration with JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Japan. JYP announced on May 20 that this project is divided into two.
Park Jinyoung, JYP Entertainment's chief producer, said, "Half air, half sound," which has become a hot topic in Japan. The popularity of the program with Park Jinyoung is soaring as JYP's "Nizi Project," which selects girl group members aired in earnest through Nihon Terebi (NTV).
The Japanese music media Real Sound highlighted the secret behind the popularity of the show, which has been airing season 2 since late last month, in an article titled "Special Message from the "NiZi Project," posted on May 5.
It's said to be similar to SBS's "K-Pop Star," wherein Park Jinyoung also participated in as a judge and critiqued the talents who auditioned. Since July last year, auditions have been held in eight Japanese cities and ten U.S. regions. And as they limit down up to 26 of more than 10,000 applicants, they were selected back in September.
Season 1 of the "Genie Project," which includes their stay in Tokyo, was broadcast in March this year, and since April 24, it shows the process of 13 applicants being screened at JYP's headquarters.
