During an interview with the Zach Song Show last August 22, 2020, the boys of BTS discussed what the have been doing during the quarantine brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is what they said.

Interviewer Zach Songs starts off by saying that everyone around the world has been impacted by the pandemic, but he believes light can still shine in the darkness. He asked the members what they learned about themselves and each other.

Suga answered first, saying, "I think we all tried new things. Before, I did not have as much time as I have now. So the past few times, it was a time for me to look into and get to know myself better, try the things I've always wanted to try. As for the members, we became even closer."

Zach agrees that this is a time for personal growth and to learn more about one's self. He then asks members how they pass the time or if they were focused on just making music.

Suga revealed he has been playing the guitar to pass time. The members reveal that Suga has been practicing the guitar diligently, and Jin even joked he practiced for over ten hours a day. Suga replies that he practices for around six hours a day.

Jungkook replied that he is planning to play the guitar with Suga. He also wants to start drawing. Jungkook stated in the interview that he gets motivated to work hard when he sees Suga practicing diligently with his guitar.

In another interview with EXTRA TV, RM revealed that though they were sad about the pandemic, the members decided to do what they do best - they are making new music and choreography.

He also revealed the members spend some of their free time sleeping, watching Netflix, and watering their plants.

In that interview, Jimin said that it was originally very tough on them, as they felt that they have lost everything that they were doing and could be doing. He said they are overcoming the situation step-by-step by gathering together and preparing "Dynamite" and the next album.

In these trying times, the boys are doing their best to stay positive by thinking of their fans.

Jimin said he has been practicing hard with his members and thinking about what he should do.

BTS released their first all-English single "Dynamite" on August 21, 2020. The song debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Cart, making it the group's first number-one single in the United States. This also earned them the title of the first all-South Korean act to debut at the top of the Hot 100. Within the first weel of sales, the song sold 300,000 units, making its release the biggest pure sales week since Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" in 2017.

The music video broke the YouTuber record for biggest premiere on the playform with 3 million concurrent viewers, as well as the record for highest amount of views within the first 24 hours of its release with 101.1 million views. Both records were previously held by BLACKPINK for "How You Like That".
