BLACKPINK just can't stop breaking records! As of October 13 KST, BLACKPINK's debut music video for "BOOMBAYAH" has surpassed the one million mark on Youtube!
As of the time of writing, the music video has 1,00,248,760 views, with 9.6 million likes and 473 thousand dislikes. The video has over 901 thousand comments. The music video originally dropped on August 8, 2016, at 8 PM KST. The music video hit the one billion mark at 8:25 AM KST on October 13, Tuesday. This means it took the music video four years, 2 months, 4 days, and 12 hours to garner one billion views.
This makes "BOOMBAYAH" the first-ever K-pop debut music video surpass one billion views on YouTube. It is also BLACKPINK's third music video to have achieved this feat, following after DDU-DU DDU-DU" and "KILL THIS LOVE".
"BOOMBAYAH" has been breaking records since its release. The song had previously topped the Billboard World Digital Songs chart for the week of August 27, 2016. During its second week on the chart, its fellow title track "WHISTLE" charted at number three, ultimately peaking to number two. Charting on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart at number one and number two made BLACKPINK the fastest South Korean artist to achieve this feat and the third Korean artist to achieve this milestone, trailing after labelmates PSY and BIGBANG.
"BOOMBAYAH" peaked at number 7 on the South Korean charts, 16 on the Japan Hot 100, 21 in Finland's Suomen Virallinen Lista, and 196 in France's SNEP.
The group won their first music show win on Inkigayo a mere thirteen days after their debut with "BOOMBAYAH", breaking the record for the shortest time for a K-pop girl group to win on a music show after their debut.
On January 31, 2017, the music video for "BOOMBAYAH" surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, making BLACKPINk the fifth South Korean girl group to reach 100 million views on their music video. It is also the fastest debut music video for any K-pop group to reach this milestone.

BLACKPINK has been consistently breaking records recently. On October 12, Tuesday, it was announced that BLACKPINK had broken a Billboard charts record with "THE ALBUM". Their first full-length album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 charts, making it the highest a female Korean act has ever ranked on the Billboard 200 charts. It is also the highest a girl group has ever charted since 2008, with the last girl group to do so being Danity Kane with "Welcome to the Doll House".

It was also announced that "THE ALBUM" had peaked at number two on the album charts of the week chart in the United Kingdom. Their latest comeback song, "Lovesick Girls" debuted at number 40 on the UK Official Singles Chart. "THE ALBUM" also debuted at number seven in Germany's Official Deutsche Charts for albums, making BLACKPINK the highest-charting Korean girl group in Germany.
BLACKPINK dropped their first-ever full-length album, "THE ALBUM", digitally on October 2 along with a music video for their title track, "Lovesick Girls". The group dropped the physical version of the albums four days later, on October 6.
