Recording of JTBC's upcoming drama "Snowdrop" has ceased after learning of a COVID-19 case on the filming set.
According to media outlet reports released on Nov. 24, a supporting actor (or an extra) who is taking part in the filming of the said show is said to have been in close contact with a COVID-19 carrier, specifically another supporting actor who is currently participating in a different drama and was previously reported to test positive for coronavirus.
The supporting actor of "Snowdrop" is revealed to have undergone testing and awaits the result while having a self-quarantine. Due to this, all recording was halted since Nov. 23, and all cast members and staff who came into contact with the extra actor have also gone COVID-19 testing and are also currently waiting for the test results.
An official from JTBC commented on the matter by stating that there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus within the "Snowdrop" team, except for the supporting actor. The latter was in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 carrier. The staff also said that they have temporarily stopped the filming to avoid the spread of the coronavirus as well as for the safety of both the team and the actors.
JTBC's "Snowdrop" filming isn't the only drama that was affected by support staff or extra actors who tested positive for COVID-19. JTBC's "Sisyphus," MBN's "Bossam - Stealing Destiny," and SBS's "Joseon Exorcist" are among the other dramas.
Meanwhile, the upcoming television show "Snowdrop" stars BLACKPINK's Jisoo, Jung Hae In, Yoon Se Ah, Jang Seung Jo, Kim Hye Yoon, and Jung Yoo Jin.
The drama is set in Seoul in 1987 and will tell the story of a male university student named Im Soo Ho (played by Jung Hae In), who runs into a female dorm one day covered in blood. Eun Young Cho (played by BLACKPINK's Jisoo), a bubbly and lovable student, hides Im Soo Ho and treats his wounds despite facing danger.

"Snowdrop" will be the very first drama of BLACKPINK's Jisoo, in which she will play one of the main characters. Before her debut in the K-Pop scene, she appeared in KBS 2TV's "The Producers" as herself. In 2019, Jisoo made a cameo as Sae Na Rae, the first love of Song Joong Ki's character in tvN's "Arthdal Chronicles."
JTBC's upcoming drama is set to begin airing sometime in 2021. It is being directed and produced by the team who previously worked on "Sky Castle" that was broadcast from November 2018 to February 2019.
In other news, BLACKPINK's Jisoo was featured in Harper's Bazaar magazine's December issue as she models the 2021 Dior Cruise collection styles. The photoshoot theme was "What to do on My First Day Off in a while?" Check out the photos here!
