NCSoft's Upcoming UNIVERSE Now Has More Than 2 Million Pre-Registrations

Promising "New ways to connect with your artists," K-Pop platform UNIVERSE has already surpassed 2 million pre-registrations ahead of its official launch.

NCSoft and its entertainment subsidiary, Klap, made the announcement on January 11, confirming the international hype that surrounds the new idol and fan interaction platform. Since the fandom service opened up its gates to interested fans last November 12, it soon passed a million pre-registrations a month later, in December. Now, K-Pop fans from 188 nations all over the world - including South Korea, the United States, Taiwan, Japan, and more - have participated in what appears to be the largest service of its kind.

As the pre-registration through the UNIVERSE website has closed on the same day, fans can soon register their accounts in advance through the UNIVERSE app - available on Google Play for Android and Apple App Store for iOS devices. Fans who will register on the app will be treated to an exclusive UNIVERSE costume set - aesthetic options to be used in the UNIVERSE Studio feature. Pre-registered accounts are also entitled to a "Welcome Merch Stamp," that they can exchange for "Welcome Goods" once the NCSoft service launches.

UNIVERSE"s growing global fame is largely in part due to the artists that are set to appear in the platform. Each artist will be having their own PLANET, an exclusive space for artists and their respective fandoms. Among the artists already onboard are Kang Daniel, The Boyz, MONSTA X, Park Ji Hoon, CIX, AB6IX, ASTRO, ATEEZ, (G)I-DLE, IZ*ONE, and WJSN. NCsoft also teases that more artists are set to launch their own PLANETs in the ever-expanding UNIVERSE.

Fun and exciting features K-Pop fans can look forward to are "Collection" and "Studio." With the "Collection" feature, each fanbase can plan and organize their own activities and archive them for future reference and earn in-app rewards that can be redeemed later on. On the other hand, "Studio" is an interactive virtual experience where fans can create and record their own music video, dressing up and animating 3D avatars created in part by the idols themselves - providing their likenesses and even motion capture data.

Furthermore, NCSoft announced the use of its audio technology to hear your favorite artists' voice anytime, anywhere. Using speech synthesis technology, the AI-voice builds upon voice recording samples from the artists themselves in order to imitate what they sound like.
