BTS and BLACKPINK Recognized in the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards

BTS and BLACKPINK have been recognized again as both K-pop acts nabbed a number of nominations for the imminent 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards. This, simply, goes to show that South Korea artists have, totally, attracted the biggest music market in the world, which is the United States.

Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, RM, and Suga received a total of four nominations this year. BTS was nominated in the Best Fan Army, Best Music Video Favorite Music Video Choreography, and Best Duo/Group of the Year categories.

Most, if not all fans, know that BTS was nominated and proclaimed winners for the Best Fan Army and Best Music Video awards last year. For those who are not aware, the Favorite Music Choreography, Best Fan Army, and Best Music Video are all social voted.

On the other hand, fan votes would not determine the Best Duo/Group of the Year winner. BTS is going against Maroon 5, Jonas Brothers, twenty-one pilots and Dan + Shay for the said category.

BLACKPINK also earned nominations in the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé are vying for the Best Fan Army and Best Music Video awards this year. BLINKs can recall that the world's biggest all-female band won the Favorite Music Video Choreography award last year.

Aside from BTS and BLACKPINK, another K-pop act was included in this year's list of nominees. NCT 127 was named as one of the contenders for the Best Fan Army category this year. The group is going against Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Louis Tomlinson, Why Don't We, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Agnez Mo, BTS, and BLACKPINK for the sought-after trophy.

As of this writing, the organizers have not yet announced the official list of performers for the ceremony. However, it was confirmed that the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards would be aired on May 27 at 8 p.m. ET. Voting would end on May 19 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
