MONSTA X, a group that has established itself as a global brand through hard work and impeccable talent, celebrates its sixth year since its debut.
Since the group debuted, MONSTA X has grown as a K-pop group both in South Korea and the rest of the world since they first debuted with the EP "Trespass" on May 14, 2015.
The seven-track album, including the title track of the same name, soon showed the group's capabilities as it started entering local and international charts. It peaked at No. 5 for weekly, No. 10 on the monthly, and No. 63 on the year-end of the South Korean Gaon Album Charts.
Furthermore, MONSTA X immediately debuted on the US-based Billboard World Digital Song Sales, reaching the 14th spot.
Though the group is fresh from the success of their third Japanese-language album, and eighth overall, "Flavors of Love," they are already gearing up for their Korean comeback with "One of a Kind," set for a June 1 release.
With their new album coming up, Starship Entertainment has noted some of the achievements and challenges that the six-member boy group has made over the six years since they debuted.
MONSTA X has repeatedly made headlines because of its breakthroughs and exceptional performances. Shortly after its debut, the group has won various awards for the 2015 Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards - living up to their name as a monster group.
Their first year only served as the start of the years to come, shining consistently and always emerging as a better version of themselves. On November 7, they released their fifth EP "The Code," which was led by the title track "Dramarama." MONSTA X won their first music show win with this single, at the SBS MTV program "The Show."
Reaching further heights, MONSTA X concluded the past year, 2020, as one of the top K-pop groups around the world - sweeping multiple awards across the globe. In the Billboard's Year-End with their first English-language release, "All About Luv," which was released as the group's Valentine's Day offering.
The album managed to debut right at the fifth spot on the US Billboard 200 album charts, as well as the 84th spot in its year-end "Top Album Sales" and the 53rd spot in the "Top Current Album Sales" charts.
Their previous year also marks some of the group's largest achievements, as far as Korean awards programs are concerned. They won the Bonsang (Top 10) at the APAN Music Awards, the Stage of the Year (Daesang) at the Asia Artist Awards, and the Best Performance Award at the Melon Music Awards, among others.
As a global phenom, MONSTA X has established a growing fanbase in France, Germany, Russia, South America, the US, and other parts of the US through its world tour. Additionally, their Japanese songs "Beautiful," "Spotlight," and "Wish on the Same Sky" being successful songs on the Oricon and Tower Records charts in Japan.
