In a broadcast, former JYP Entertainment trainee Jeon Somi confessed her honest feelings after failing to debut in TWICE along with best friend Chaeyoung.
Chaeyoung, Jeon Somi Express Regrets for Not Debuting in TWICE Together
Earlier on August 30, TWICE Chaeyoung appeared as a guest in Jeon Somi's web show, "Yes or HOT," released on the official TEO's YouTube channel.
The Q&A segment follows the premise of the game, "Truth or Dare," where the players can either answer the questions or take a pass and eat spicy food instead.

During the lively banter, the two suddenly recalled their trainee days at JYP Entertainment and reminisced the time they almost debuted in the same girl group.
As a brief context, Somi and Chaeyoung became close friends after being JYP trainees. They both appeared in Mnet's survival program "Sixteen" as well, which created the girl group TWICE. While the latter made it to the final lineup, Jeon Somi was sadly eliminated.
With this, Chaeyoung asked:
"You're so happy after leaving JYP Entertainment, right?"
The question embarrassed Jeon Somi, but she smiled brightly and admitted, "Yes."
Chaeyoung smiled meaningfully, saying:
"I thought you (Jeon Somi) would say that."
It was Somi's turn to ask a question and said:
"You were relieved when I didn't become a member of TWICE, right?"
Chaeyoung seemed unable to answer Jeon Somi's question hastily and was almost teary-eyed when she confessed:
"Hey, I was so sad!"
Hearing this, Jeon Somi comforted her and narrated that she still vividly remembers the day she was eliminated to become a TWICE member.
The two close friends had no choice but to take a different path after "Sixteen" announced the group's final lineup on July 7, 2015.
Chaeyoung added:
"We were always glued together so I was so sad I couldn't debut in the same team with you. After you left JYP Entertainment, I was so upset. But a side of me also wished for things to work out for you in some way."
After becoming artists under different agencies, both stars agreed that it actually let them meet more often than when they were under JYP.
Jeon Somi Status After Leaving JYP
After TWICE debuted in 2015, Jeon Somi continued training under JYP Entertainment and was introduced as an upcoming member of the company's new girl group ITZY.
But even before their official debut, Jeon Somi suddenly terminated her contract with JYP Entertainment in August 2018. She was replaced by current member Yuna.
Jeon Somi would soon announce her new nest to be THEBLACKLABEL led by Teddy, a producer of its parent company, YG Entertainment. She debuted as a soloist in 2019. She has since released hits, such as "DUMB DUMB," "What you waiting for," and "Fast Forward."
