On February 29, 2024, Wendy held a special solo concert titled "2024 B-day PARTY – WENDY [HAPPY WENDY DAY]." The concert was held to not only celebrate her upcoming comeback but also belatedly celebrate her birthday, which was on February 21.

During the concert, Wendy performed a plethora of songs, both her own and covers from other artists. On top of that, she even did some of the most popular dance challenges on social media, including Tyla's "Water."

After performing seven songs and four different dance challenges, Wendy performed Beyonce's "Love on Top." While performing, however, Wendy struggled to hit the high notes and was off-tune. Though she attempted to do riffs and runs, she ultimately fell flat.

Red Velvet Wendy Apologizes for 'Poor' Vocals

Following the "disappointing" performance, Wendy took to Bubble to apologize to fans.

She sent ReveLuvs a voice recording of her singing "Love on Top," and commented that although her sense of rhythm was off, she thought the recording was better than how she performed during her concert.

She added that it was a shame she performed poorly and apologized to fans. Wendy expressed her sadness, leaving sad emoticons and a sighing message.

Many stressed that she had nothing to apologize for. Besides "Love on Top," Wendy performed the other songs flawlessly. After dancing and singing everything alone, it is normal that she would be tired and struggle to sing such a difficult song.

ReVeluvs also mentioned that Wendy sang that same song on "Leemujin Service" flawlessly, showing that the type of performance she showed at her solo concert performance was a one-off.

Wendy will be releasing her second mini-album, "Wish You Hell," on March 12, 2024.
