ILLIT are garnering applause for improving their vocals so quickly, following backlash over their encore stages.
When ILLIT won their first music show trophy on April 2, 2024, on "THE SHOW," they were met with immediate backlash over their vocals during their encore stage. People claimed that for a group with a "monster rookie" title, their vocals were too shaky and unstable. Their second win wasn't any better, with more netizens slamming them for their voices.
However, it appears the girls took those comments and decided to improve themselves. Keep on reading for all the details.
ILLIT Applauded for Speedy Improvement in Vocals Following Latest Encore Stage
On April 13, 2024, ILLIT took home their third music show win for "Magnetic" on "Show Music Core." As with their previous wins, the girls held an encore stage, where they performed their song with little to no backing track.
However, compared to their last encore stages, netizens were pleasantly surprised to hear how they improved.
Compared to previous stages, the members of ILLIT sang with more confidence, belting out their parts confidently. They appeared to take the criticism with no hard feelings, instead using it as motivation to improve. Netizens noted that it was a complete 360 from their last encore stages.
In previous stages, it was mostly Minju who received positive comments, with some saying she was saving their performance. Now, however, they all seemed comfortable on stage. In particular, Iroha and Wonhee earned massive praise for how quickly they've improved their voices.
People believe that they must have been nervous for their first week of promotions, which led to their shaky voices. Now, with more practice and dedication, it appears ILLIT is ready to show their good side.
Some comments read,
- "This is a total 360 from when everyone but Minju couldn't sing and had a shaky voice. I hope they continue to work hard in the future. Fighting!"
- "People can see this and be like, 'Oh, I see, they were really nervous during their first week,' and can be understanding and forgiving. Whatever they are doing, it seems the members are improving slowly and working hard instead of being dejected."
- "What the? You can see that Iroha improved a lot. It seems like everyone took into mind the criticism they got for their live singings. It's great to see them improve with each encore stage. It would have been better if they debuted with good skills, but I hope they can slowly grow since they've already made their debut. I love seeing them improve."
- "Wonhee has improved a lot. She is more stable here than the other two encores."
