Following the release of aespa's "Supernova" music video, fans are complaining about Winter's lack of screen time.
On May 13, 2024, aespa made their much-anticipated comeback with "Supernova," a pre-release to their upcoming album, "Armageddon." As it marks the girl group's first comeback this year, fans were understandably excited for the release.
However, soon after the reasons, fans noticed something that stood out: Winter's lack of screen time.
Though the "Supernova" music video is over three minutes long, Winter only had 24 seconds of screen time. On top of that, Winter only has 27 seconds of lines. This confused many, as Winter is known as the group's lead vocalist and visual.

Many wondered why SM Entertainment had Winter fly to Thailand to film the music video, even though she was sick at the time, just for 24 seconds of screen time.
On top of that, most of her scenes don't showcase the scenery of the country much and utilize lots of effects, meaning she could have filmed her part in South Korea. Many slammed SM Entertainment for risking Winter's health yet did not feature her more prominently.
Additionally, it was noted for the teasers of "Armageddon," Winter had the least amount of accessories and extra editing. While she was the thumbnail for the launch code, she is the only aespa member to not be the thumbnail of an official title track. This paired with her lack of lines and screen time had MYs begging for more of Winter.
Still, some MYs are hopeful that when the full album drops, they will be able to hear more of Winter in the other songs. Additionally, the music video for "Armageddon" will be released on May 27, 2024, leading fans to believe Winter may get her redemption.
